Description
Grain loads should be sampled with our double tube probe in five or more places.
The first essential step in grain grading, is to obtain a correct and representative sample. Constructed of extra heavy gauge tubing. Available in Brass and Aluminum. Our seedburo grain probes stand up to repetitive use, they are durable and time-tested.
All of our grain probes are proudly made in the United States.
Partitioned Grain probes are used by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and by all grain inspectors. There is a separate compartment for each individual opening. Samples from these probes can be emptied on a grain sampling canvas.
Open-ended grain probes without partitions are more convenient to empty and are widely used by the grain elevator operators for obtaining samples from truck loads. After sample is obtained the grain probe is held upright and sample is dumped from the handle.
Spiral Grain Probes have openings on the inside tube that rotate around so that it opens first at the bottom and then in gradual steps to the top.
This assures a fair proportion of grain samples from the bottom levels as well as from the top. The Spiral Probe is highly recommended for sampling grains when foreign material is apt to be heaviest near the bottom of a truck. The construction of the probe is a double-tube brass with a 1 3/8″ outside diameter and heavy bronze point.
